Every filter on this page maps directly onto the clues Wordle gives you after each guess, so you don't need to translate between "Wordle language" and "word finder language."
How the Filters Map to Green, Yellow, and Gray Tiles
A green tile means you know the letter and its exact position, so enter it into the matching Exact Position box. A yellow tile means the letter is in the word but in a different spot, so enter it into the Any Order field instead. A gray tile means the letter isn't in the word at all, so enter it into Exclude Letters. Most Wordle solving is just these three filters used together: lock in your greens, add your yellows to Any Order, and drop your grays into Exclude, then let the results narrow with each new guess.

How Many 5 Letter Words Are There?
The answer depends entirely on which list you're asking about. All Dictionaries is the union of every list, Wordle Guesses is the largest single list, Wordle Answers is a curated subset of it, and Scrabble UK is smaller than Scrabble US not because British English has fewer words — but because it's a stricter, double-checked list.
